I may be biased to think that this senior is quite a stud.  Spending an extremely small amount of time with my little brother...who's not quite so little...was a blast.  There's something extra special about taking pictures of people you know really well.  You capture the things about them that nobody else could notice. 

It's the best feeling to be able to feel completely natural interacting with someone from behind the camera.  And with my little brother...that was probably the best part.

The beginnings of my relationship with Kate included late night pillow talks, dance party study breaks, history lessons, lots of girl talk, and the beginning of an incredible friendship.  

The beginnings of my relationship with Karl included him pretending to hate me, me finding rolled up pieces of paper all over my floor, and us learning to share his amazing girlfriend... now fiancé.   

I got the call in August.  She asked me when I was moving into school.  I asked her the same.  "So...want to do me a favor?" she said...."Want to take my engagement pics this fall?!"  I'm sure my scream was loud enough to break her eardrum.  Congratulations Kate and Karl....I love you both and could not be happier for you...

The Unexpected

I love how the most unexpected picture opportunities surprise me.  

I had no idea I would be shooting these two for a few short moments, but the unexpected opportunity arose.  Somehow, those moments always seem to be the best.  

The Princess is One

In the busyness of the beginning of the school year, we never got to share the one year shoot of our princess with you.  Adorable as ever...check this girl out [who,by the way,is growing up WAY TOO FAST.]

 

The Flipse Four

Oh. My. Sweetness.  

These four would be considered to be in the "love of our lives" category.  They are the perfect mixture of silly, sassy, and sweet... and boy do we miss these summer days already...

Korie & Wes

We've talked about it since we were young.  We always tried to guess who would be first.  I can't believe we're already at this point.

When Korie called me and told me that she was engaged, so many memories of our childhood dreams and predictions flooded my mind, along with the screams of joy that came out of my mouth.  My cousins and I have always been close.  Being highly outnumbered by boys, the six of us girls [that are around the same age] have always had a blast together, looking forward to each family party or gathering like it's the best day in the world.  Korie, being the first of the six of us to get engaged, could not have been more excited to introduce us to the man of her dreams...

Baby Bliss

After spending a couple weeks at school, family news of a precious baby boy gave me the chance to escape from a world of adults to the world of a sweet little boy...

Matthysse

Remember these cuties? We knew we couldn't leave for school without squeezing in a shoot for this incredible family.  The Matthysse family has been a huge blessing in our lives. Whether it's stopping by for a random dinner, playing barbies or leggos while babysitting, spending a summer day in their pool, or showing up at their house at 10 or 11pm for a chat, we cherish every moment we spend with this family.  

Their shoot was so natural and fun...it was just like hanging out any other time (which we did afterward of course...including a stop at the candy store on the way home!)

 

 Matthysse family...thank you so much for spending a day with us.  You are a perfect example of love and joy.  We are so thankful for you and that we get to be a little part of your family every once in a while!  We love you more than you could imagine!
