Photography is our passion. Hope is our favorite word. Hebrews 10:23 is one of our favorite Bible verses. That's how we have arrived at the title of our long awaited blog, 10.23 Photography! We wanted to be able to share with you not only our photos, but the precious memories that we love to capture. So... enjoy!

Matthysse

Remember these cuties? We knew we couldn't leave for school without squeezing in a shoot for this incredible family.  The Matthysse family has been a huge blessing in our lives. Whether it's stopping by for a random dinner, playing barbies or leggos while babysitting, spending a summer day in their pool, or showing up at their house at 10 or 11pm for a chat, we cherish every moment we spend with this family.

Their shoot was so natural and fun...it was just like hanging out any other time (which we did afterward of course...including a stop at the candy store on the way home!)

Matthysse family...thank you so much for spending a day with us.  You are a perfect example of love and joy.  We are so thankful for you and that we get to be a little part of your family every once in a while!  We love you more than you could imagine!

Hanna

We love photographing people who have strong connections to our passions and experiences:  people who have shared in significant events in our lives.  Hanna is most certainly one of these people.  We met her for the first time on a mission trip to Honduras last summer, and she will forever be one of our closest friends simply because of that shared experience.  We love her passion for God's people that matches our own, and paired with her sweetness and contagious laughter, we just can't get enough of this beautiful girl.

Hanna wanted to include two specific things in her shoot.  One:  a cross necklace that has a special place in her heart because of its connection to her grandma. (we also loved this because it so clearly portrays her heart for God)  Two:  dance. She wanted to make sure we captured the love for dance that consumed so much of her time and energy in high school.  And believe us when we say...this girl is GOOD. ;)

Carli

In our last weeks of summer, we packed in as many shoots as humanly possible while still leaving time to pack for school and say our goodbyes.  We were so tightly scheduled that we took a lot of risks involving location and weather.  Somehow, all of those risks seemed to become successes.  Carli's shoot was just one example of that.  Not only did we randomly choose one of the most unique, terrifying, and awesome locations ever, we also finished her shoot within minutes of the intensely black sky turning into pouring rain.

We absolutely LOVE it when a shoot comes with a story, and Carli's was definitely one of those shoots!  In spite of the bats flying over our heads, random toilets and other household items we had to step over, creaky floor boards that we had to test before walking on, and more...we thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon with this beautiful, confident, daring senior.

Krygshelds

When people ask us about our favorite kind of shoot, we almost always tell them that we love doing family shoots the most.  While they are some of the most stressful because of the many factors that affect the shoot, they are so SO rewarding.  There is something so special about interacting with a family and capturing the way they interact together.  Even though they are unpredictable and crazy, the preciousness of a family is one of the greatest gifts we get the opportunity to share.

Spending one of our last summer days with the Krygsheld family was such a blessing.  They are so fun and sweet...one of the families that brought us pure joy to capture...
